Medical Imaging Solutions for Populations in Low-Resource Regions
ImagX-Eco is a project dedicated to improving the quality of healthcare in low-resource regions by equipping medical centers with a state-of-the-art affordable imaging system. Indeed, disease and trauma diagnosis as well as treatment planning and follow-up have gained in efficiency since the development of imaging systems such as radiography systems, CT and MRI scanners, etc. However, these devices are too expensive to purchase and to maintain for low-resource medical facilities. 
The ImagX-Eco team has bet on the development of a cone beam CT (CBCT) scanner, as a multifunctional device to perform radiography and computed tomography examinations at an affordable cost. 
The hardware has been designed to obtain a robust and simple device, easy to maintain, allowing the empowerment of the technical and the medical staff of the local communities. In addition, state-of-the-art methods including advanced scatter correction and iterative reconstruction are being developed to achieve high quality images with low dose exposures.
