Gaëtan Rensonnet

Senior Researcher

Gaëtan is completing a joint PhD program with Profs Benoît Macq (Université catholique de Louvain) and Jean-Philippe Thiran (Ecole polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne). His research aims at providing sub-millimetric properties of the white matter from the post-processing of diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging (DW-MRI) acquisitions in the human brain and spinal cord. The developed framework relies on intensive Monte Carlo simulations of the random walk of water molecules in biologically-realistic environments and sparse optimization. Acknowledgments: this research is supported by a Research Fellow grant from Fonds de la Recherche Scientifique (F.R.S-FNRS) and an Excellence Scholarship from Wallonie-Bruxelles International (WBI).
