Félix Sommer

Postdoctoral researcher

Felix Sommer started his career as a trainee in one of Germany’s largest media agency networks and went on to study industrial engineering at the University of Paderborn, Germany, and Linköping University, Sweden, specializing in material’s science, process engineering, operations research and game theory. His studies were sponsored by a scholarship of the German Academic Scholarship Foundation. Following the completion of his diploma, he joined the the Center for Operations Research and Econometrics (CORE) at the Université catholique de Louvain as a visiting scholar and then pursued his PhD in economics and management at the Louvain School of Management, which he completed in 2017. His thesis focused on recommender systems, applying graph theory to practical applications and clustering tasks. Since then, he continues his research at UCLouvain as a postdoctoral researcher at the Institut Langage et Communication (ILC) and Institute of Information and Communication Technologies, Electronics and Applied Mathematics (ICTEAM) as well as an invited lecturer.
